Installing printers in a Windows 10 device is not always smooth sailing, sometimes you would encounter errors after installing the driver and not covered by the user manual especially older printers which are more prone to installation issues with the Windows 10 operating system. Luckily there is another way to install or add your printer thru Devices and Printers.
Devices and Printers is part of the Windows settings to show as well as interact with all the devices connected to your Windows device. Here, you can change or tweak configurations of each device for them to work properly.
Ways to Launch Devices and Printers in Windows 10
Method 1: Press the Windows Key and “R” keys on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box, enter control panel and press Enter. This will open the Devices and Printers window.

Method 2: Open Control Panel thru searching in the Start Menu. You can find the Devices and Printers in the Control Panel window.
Method 3: Access Devices and Printers thru Settings. Press Windows key and “I” keys to open settings, click Devices
Scroll down until you see Related Settings. Click on the Devices and Printers link.
Adding a printer thru Devices and Printers
Now that we know how to access Devices and Printers, we can now proceed to adding a printer to your device. Simply click on Add a printer on the upper left corner.
Make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to your Windows 10 device. Wait until it will detect your printer and just follow the instructions. Windows will automatically connect thru its sources to properly install your printer and will be added to the system.
