How to Setup Wireless Canon Pixma MG2922 in IOS and Android

Nowadays, we often see people holding their own mobile phones whether at the mall, inside the campus, or even at home – practically anywhere, that is.  Possessing such a device has become an everyday convenience. I can go on discussing the list of the individual physical gadgets which technology has housed in one tiny little gadget, but I would rather not.  I would like to give emphasis on one apparent feature this phone is able to perform, which is the integrated mobile printing - the ability to connect to a Canon Pixma MG2922 printer or any other wireless printers, for that matter.  This innovation grants you the exceptional freedom to stay connected while on the move.  You can submit documents, emails, photos and other content for print jobs from their gadgets to the network for great convenience.

The Canon Pixma MG2922 is a WiFi printer that can connect to a network without using a cable. Once connected to a WiFi network, computers, and gadgets like mobile phones and tablets which are also connected to that same network can print effortlessly.

In the step-by-step guide below, we'll cover how to setup Canon Pixma MG2922 in IOS and Android devices:

in IOS Devices:

  1. Download the canon print app on your iOS device using the App Store and follow the given instructions to complete its installation.
  2. The printer should be plugged in and turned on. A green light next to the power button will be lit when the printer is on.
  3. Check the blue Wi-Fi light on your Canon Pixma MG2922.  You should be able to see a quick flashing light and the ON line will be lit.
  4. Open the Canon print app.  On the main screen, tap the ADD PRINTER icon, tap REGISTER PRINTER then tap PRINTER SETUP. Tap CONNECT VIA WIRELESS ROUTER.
  5. A screen will prompt you to connect your device's Wi-Fi to the Canon IJ setup network.  On your iOS device, switch from the app to settings, then Wi-Fi, and then connect to the canon IJ setup network. When your device is connected to the network, return to the CANON PRINT screen then tap OK.  
  6. Select the access point or wireless network name you would like to use. Enter the password for your wireless network and tap OK.
  7. The network settings will be sent to the printer. Tap OK when prompted.
  8. Verify if the printer is detected. Choose the name of your printer to connect the printer with your device.
  9. When this message appears, tap OK. Run a test print.

In ANDROID:

  1. Download the Canon print app on your android device by tapping the Google Play Store icon and follow the given instructions to complete its installation.
  2. The printer should be plugged in and turned on.  
  3. Check the blue Wi-Fi light on your Canon Pixma MG2922.  You should be able to see a quick flashing light and the ON line will be lit.
  4. Open the Canon print app.  On the main screen, tap the ADD PRINTER icon, tap REGISTER PRINTER then tap PRINTER SETUP. Tap CONNECT VIA WIRELESS ROUTER.
  5. Select the access point or wireless network name you would like to use. Enter the password for your wireless network and tap OK.
  6. The network settings will be sent to the printer.  Tap OK when prompted.
  7. Verify if the printer is detected. Choose the name of your printer to connect the printer with your device.
  8. When this message appears, tap OK. Run a test print.

This WiFi printer also allows you to select special settings like duplex printing, page ranges and many more after selecting the output device.  It also enables you to retrieve jobs from the printer whenever you want.
