HP Envy 4520: Touchscreen Multifunction Printer on a Budget

Having a multifunction printer is better than having a single-function one or separate office machines. The downside however is it’s always too pricey. Nowadays, it’s staple to have your printer wireless, all-in-one, capable of mobile and cloud printing as well as having an LCD touchscreen control panel. Again, it’s pricey. But like any other products, there’s always a cheaper version in the market. Now HP Envy 4520 is one printer that gives you all these but for less.

Its features:

Like I said, it has all the staples or basics of a multifunction printer of the present day.

All-in-one printer – It has print, copy, scan and photo printing. Prints in black at 9.5 pp BUT in draft mode it speeds up to 20 ppm. Printing color is slower at 6.8 ppm but also speeds up at 16ppm in draft.  First page out ready in 18-20 seconds. It is actually not bad considering it’s an entry level personal printer of 1,000 pages monthly duty cycle. Using the draft mode actually prolongs the ink cartridge life which leads to more savings.

Wireless Capabilities – Windows 10 to Windows Vista compatible and has built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Hi-speed USB 2.0 and capable of mobile printing including HP ePrint, AirPrint, Mopria certified and Wi-Fi Direct.

Here’s a favorite part, it has a 2.2-inch monochrome LCD display in touchscreen so you can navigate through menus quicker and faster in just a few taps.

Verdict:

This is a personal printer which costs around $58- $99. Point is, it’s under $100 price tag. But surprisingly, it’s actually a good printer. HP Envy 4520 has a solid design, cost-efficient ink cartridges, great overall design and performance for its size.

I’d say this is a great printer for college students or for people who like(s) to print photos occasionally for DIY crafts or scrapbooking.
